University of Fort-Hare (UFH) Application 2026 – How to Apply
The University of Fort Hare (UFH) will soon begin its application for admission into the 2026 academic year, so if you are a high school leaver, and you are looking to gain admission into this Institution, then this article is for you.

The application is expected to begin around June 2025, but the school has not yet confirmed that. This post will provide you with information like available courses, admission requirements, how to apply, and track your application when it eventually opens.

Admission Requirements
The University of Fort Hare has strict admission requirements that require you to be a top performer in your academics. Below are the admission requirements:
Admission Requirements for Bachelor’s Degrees
- Minimum of level 4 in English 1st Additional Language or
- Minimum of level 3 in English Home Language.
- Minimum of Level 4 or better in four 20-credit subjects from the designated list, excluding Life Orientation.

Admission Requirements for Mature Age Applicants
Mature age applicants (turning 23 years during the year of registration), who have met the requirements in bullets 1 – 3 above, qualify for admission to mainstream programmes. They need to apply for conditional exemption from the USAF.
General Admission Requirements
- Senior Certificate (pre-2008)
- A candidate is expected to possess a minimum level of proficiency in English language. A pass mark of at least an E symbol on SG is considered to be sufficient. A pass mark of at least an F symbol on HG English 1st language is also considered to be sufficient.
- A Matriculation Exemption or Further Education and Training Certificate.
- A standard qualification to study for a degree is a Matriculation endorsement or equivalent.

How to Apply to UFH
The University of Fort Hare is not currently accepting applications for the 2026 Academic year. The Applications are expected to open in June 2025, so you have to wait till then.
Tracking your Application
After Applying to the University of Fort Hare, you need to wait for at least six weeks to track your application. You can track your application by following these steps:
- To track your application status, click here.
- After logging in and confirming details, Under Student iEnabler on the right side of the screen please click on the Student Enquiry Link.
- Then, under the Student Enquiry, please click on Academic Admissions Status and you will now see the status of your application.
After you applied, you should have received an SMS informing you of the status of your application thereafter a letter of confirmation.
