University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Application 2026 – How to Apply

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) application for admission into the 2026 academic year will soon start, so if you are a high school leaver, and you are looking to gain admission into this Institution, then I advise you don’t skip this article

The University of KwaZulu-Natal Produces graduates with knowledge, skills, and networks to build meaningful and agile careers that can be sustained and adapted throughout their lifetime. UKZN  works at establishing a value-driven organizational culture that empowers the institution and its people to achieve institutional goals.

The UKZN application is expected to begin around April 2025, However, the school has yet to confirm that. This post will provide you with information like available courses, admission requirements, how to apply, and track your application when it eventually opens.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) has several faculties which include

Admission Requirements

The following is required of students who wish to study at the University of KwaZulu-Natal:

  • A National Senior Certificate for Degree Studies (NSC-DEG) (a Matric Bachelor’s pass).
  • A minimum of seven subjects with at least four subjects (passed at level 4) from the designated list (right).
  • English Home Language/First Additional Language (passed at Level 4 minimum). The medium of tuition at UKZN is English.
  • Life Orientation (passed at Level 4 minimum). Life Orientation marks are not considered when calculating your Admission Point Score (APS).
  • Degree-specific subjects and Academic Performance Score (APS)

An application fee of R 175 must be paid to the CAO:

  • Either by cheque or postal order direct to the CAO on submission of the completed application form. The cheque or postal order must be made out to the Central Applications Office and the cheque must be crossed. No cash payments are accepted.
  • By direct deposit at any branch of Absa Bank or via the Internet. Applicants must use the deposit slip or banking details provided on page 4 of the CAO application form.

How to Apply to the University of KwaZulu-Natal

You can apply to study at UKZN by following these steps:

  1. Consult the CAO handbook which provides listings of qualifications available at the different institutions.
  2. Have a look through the various courses offered and choose a programme that interests you.
  3. Find the CAO code which is linked to the qualification that you have chosen. This code needs to be entered on the application form.
  4. Use this CAO code to complete a CAO form which is available from the CAO, the CAO website, or the University’s Application and Information Office.
  5. Follow the directions on the CAO form to submit your application.

To track your application after applying, visit the CAO website, log in, and check the status of your application.
